IN DIJON, FRANCE 25TH - 28TH JUNE 2009

A new International President was elected.

WALBURGA HABSBURG DOUGLAS, born in Germany but now resident in Sweden and a member of the Swedish Parliament

Mrs. Ingrid-Tichy-Schreder, from Austria, our esteemed President for the past six years retired at this meeting. We thank her both for her friendship towards the British Section and her leadership of E.U.W. during this time.

Research work carried out in the International Workshops and Commissions was discussed and resolutions formulated, reflecting women's opinions across Europe.

A new theme for research over the coming two years was agreed.

OBSERVERS AT THE GENERAL ELECTION, 2010

Under the auspices of the Westminster Foundatiion for Democracy, EUW will be hosting two groups of three women to observe the last week of campaiging for the General Election. It is presently expected that these groups will be from Macedonia and Montenegro. We look forward to welcoming our guests to the United Kingdom.
